Since 1950, Penn Museum archaeologists have worked continuously at Gordion in central Turkey, the home of the real King Midas and the ancient Phrygian kingdom he ruled nearly 3,000 years ago. Join Project Director Dr. C. Brian Rose as he shares the history of this fabled site and its most recent exciting discoveries. Having just returned from a short field season at Gordion, Dr. Rose will offer a firsthand account of one of the most important archaeological sites in the Near East with findings dating back to the Early Bronze Age (2500 BCE).
