Every Tuesday, join these 30-minute sessions—perfect for kids in elementary to middle school—to dig deeper into world cultures, archaeology, and anthropology with demonstrations of hands-on projects you can try at home!

For thousands of years, cultures around the world have used light as a symbol of celebrations. Learn about the ancient pagan Festival of Lights and how parts of this tradition are still practiced today to mark the Winter Solstice. From Diwali to Hannukah, look at ways civilizations across the ancient world bring light into their holidays using special vessels and tools to shine through the darkness. Then create a personalized design for your own ancient lamp!
