Description
Two-part wooden carving of a totem pole. The base is carved into the shape of a frog with a mortise hole in the back to accept the tenoned pole portion, which is carved from a single piece of wood. The pole tapers to a slightly narrower top than bottom. The back of the pole is hollowed out and the front is carved into various figures, then painted black. From the frog base upward is possibly a bear devouring a frog, a raven, and possibly a woman who became a bear.
