Description
Man's breast ornament. Plaited fabric consisting of 2 straps for suspension uniting in triangular piece below with suggestion of eyes and nose. From loop which suggests latter [i.e.nose], hang bunches of feathers.
Back of card reads: "Man's Collar: Of netting with shell [cowry] and feather decoration. The triangular pendant part of the netting foundation is a conventionalized human face. Northeastern New Guinea, Sepik River [3] Kambringi."
