Unpacking the Past

The Penn Museum is thrilled to support 6th and 7th grade classrooms from Philadelphia Title I schools in their studies of ancient civilizations. Through our Unpacking the Past program, teachers may request up to three free virtual programs per class. You may choose to focus all three programs on one culture or mix and match throughout the year!

Choose among programs exploring the cultures and civilizations of Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Mexico and Central America, Indigenous North America, and Ancient Egypt and Rome. To apply, fill out the request form at the link above and select the topics that fit your curriculum. A Penn Museum educator will get back to you within two weeks to suggest a menu of programs based on your specified needs.
